Will Google Begin Harvesting Your DNA?
A recent story called Why is Everyone Connected With Google So Creepy exposes Google’s connection to a scheme to scan people’s DNA and extract medical information from it.
Anne Wojcicki, who is the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, founded 23andMe.com which, according to Techcrunch, offers to scan your DNA and tell you information about yourself:
23andMe will offer a genetic screening service for $999. The short story is that 23andMe will administer a test (presumably a swab or saliva test) that will take your DNA and screen it. In return you will be told your genetic history including whether you are likely to suffer from a range of diseases or similar life altering events, including heart disease.
Google has invested almost $4 million into this DNA collection company that run by the wife of Google’s co-founder.
As if Google is not creepy enough with their eavesdropping technology where they plan to use your computer’s speakers to listen to sounds in your house and serve advertising to you based on what TV programs you are watching…
Well of course Google works for the government; at the least it is given huge perks by the government to continue the invasion of the privacy rights of Americans. As evidenced in only one scenario–Google saves every page you Google and builds a profile on you–what do you think they get paid for that???????
